Open year round, this ski resort boasts a national treasure (the Lodge) and is a secret summer/ski play spot for local residents. Arriving at 7:40am we where first in line at the hand forged iron gates of the a Cascade Dining room.  We where seated at the windows and treated to a wonderful cup of coffee and a spectacular view. Breakfast was only one of the high points of the day and the only way to start my visit to the lodge. I will include a trip to the Cascade dining room with every ski day.

I was greeted by  happy lift attendants and, not once did I share a chair or wait in line. It was a great choice of ski days on our part.

The lodge and history of its construction is a true testament to the American spirit. Outstanding historical value. It deserves a day of exploration on its own.
