The permanent resident population has grown to at around 20,000 end 2006. In the summer the number can increase substantially or may double.

is well known for its summer recreational activities and opportunities, drawing
thousands of visitors each year to the area. In addition, the City is home base
for a winter wonderland with easy access to Mt. Hood recreational areas. Enjoy

and in the Heights.
Because of the geographical location on the Columbia River in the middle of the
beautiful Columbia River Gorge, Hood River is one of the best recreational
